Jason Grad, co-founder and CEO of Massive, issued a stark warning: “You’ve likely seen Clawdbot trending on X/LinkedIn. While cool, it is currently unvetted and high-risk for our environment.”

Valere, a company that conducted security testing on OpenClaw, identified that the tool can be tricked via malicious emails instructing it to share files. Guy Pistone, CEO of Valere, expressed serious concerns: “If it got access to one of our developer’s machines, it could get access to our cloud services and our clients’ sensitive information, including credit card information and GitHub codebases.”

The Bigger Picture: AI Adoption Challenges

These security concerns come amid broader challenges in AI adoption within corporate environments. Accenture, the global consulting giant, has taken the extraordinary step of linking promotions to leadership positions with regular adoption of AI tools. The firm monitors senior employees’ weekly log-ins to tools like AI Refinery and SynOps, facing what executives describe as an exercise in “chivvying” older senior figures who are often less comfortable with technology.

Accenture’s approach reflects a “carrot and stick” strategy, with CEO Julie Sweet previously stating the firm would “exit” staff who couldn’t adapt to the AI age. However, some employees criticize the tools as “broken slop generators,” while others threaten to quit if the policy affects them directly. The firm has trained more than 550,000 people in generative AI among its almost 800,000 global workers, yet faces resistance that mirrors the security concerns surrounding tools like OpenClaw.

This massive funding round includes major investments from Amazon (up to $50 billion), SoftBank ($30 billion), and Nvidia ($20 billion), signaling continued confidence in AI’s potential despite security concerns.

Meanwhile, price competition is heating up, with Chinese AI company Zhipu offering entry-level access for about $3 per month – significantly undercutting US counterparts priced around $20 per month. Zhipu’s GLM-5 is priced at $0.58 per million input tokens versus OpenAI’s $1.75, creating pressure on US companies to justify premium pricing as Chinese alternatives become more competitive on industry benchmarks.
